"Desperate
need is the criteria for providing care…
irrespective
of caste or creed."
The Orphans in Need
project plans to play an effective role in the battle against
poverty, starvation, exploitation and illiteracy. Our goal is
to ensure that the orphans are no less well fed and clothed than
their contemporaries, and that they are able to take advantage
of the educational opportunities open to them. We are confident
that our orphanage unlike many others, will not merely teach these
disadvantaged youngsters independence, it is our vision to educate
the youngsters in our care to a professional level i.e. doctors,
barristers and teachers etc.
We foresee the level of care we will provide to be of a much more
personal nature than many other orphanages currently running.
Evidently the majority of children will come to us from unstable
abusive backgrounds, it is our ultimate goal that these young
people are cherished, loved, nurtured and encouraged to grow into
valuable assets to society. Although many other establishments
provide the basic needs of these youngsters, we will endeavour
to provide these youngsters with a secure, family oriented
home and not simply a “bed for the night”.
Preferably the staff at the home would be from the local population,
in anticipation of providing employment for local people, thus
improving the whole surrounding area. We will accept no less than
genuine loving carers to be in charge of our precious youngsters.
The staff will be vetted and trained to look after those in our
care.
In the aftermath of the disasters the Gujarat region has faced;
thousands of children have been split from their siblings and
parents. We will do whatever possible to reunite that child with
their family.
Once set up, we envisage the orphanage to be independent of charities
and for it in someway generate its own income, by means of those
within our care being their own bosses, thus giving them a sense
of self worth and respect.
The Orphans in Need project eventually plans to establish several
orphan rehabilitation centres, to help support orphans to gain
a good level of education and moral values.
Throughout each stage of our project we intend to produce a Newsletter,
informing our donors about each stage of development.
